Responsibilities

Build the compute, storage, and networking primitives of the STACKIT IaaS platform.
Improve IaaS API stability, scalability, code quality, and functionality.
Scale the billing pipeline to support 10x and 100x volume and new resource types.
Own features end-to-end, including shipping, operating, responding to pages, and fixing production issues.
Make architectural decisions across service boundaries and review API contributions from other IaaS teams.
Raise code quality through reviews, mentoring, documentation, testing, and proactive resolution of broken pipelines or outdated documentation.

Strong software engineering background with DevOps and systems skills.
Several years of production experience with Go and the ability to write idiomatic, well-tested code and justify design choices.
Experience with distributed systems concepts including idempotency, retries, partial failures, and eventual consistency.
Deep relational database knowledge; large-scale experience is a plus.
Linux fundamentals, including logs, networking, and processes.
Daily working experience with Kubernetes and Helm, including debugging misbehaving pods.
Willingness to debug and learn the OpenStack layer beneath the API.
Ability to turn ambiguous problem statements into production outcomes and challenge requirements when appropriate.
