Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop and revise software applications according to user specifications and resolve defects identified by users or testing.
- Provide technical guidance for data architecture and evaluate and recommend software products and programming languages.
- Troubleshoot custom application and data-handling issues.
- Serve as the enterprise lead technical liaison to clients, vendors, stakeholders, and executive management.
- Develop application specifications from stakeholder input.
- Establish and oversee enterprise application design, programming, documentation, testing, and review standards.
- Provide technical oversight for enterprise-wide application coding, testing, deployment, and delivery.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior technical staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight years of software applications developer experience.
- Ability to obtain and continuously maintain a passport and appropriate travel visas.
- Preferred: ten years of related work experience, including at least three years working on a research vessel.
- Preferred proficiency in Java, C#, Angular/HTML/JavaScript, or LabVIEW.
- Preferred experience with Oracle or other relational databases, multi-tiered or web-based architectures, graphical user interfaces, and code versioning, debugging/profiling, test automation, or integrated development tools.
- Preferred experience with scientific ocean drilling.
- Must pass a routine medical examination for required sailing assignments and satisfy security-sensitive employment requirements.

- The position requires sailing and working in a 24/7 shipboard environment with 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and other hours as needed.

- Employment is contingent on continuation of grant and/or contract funding and satisfactory job performance.
