Responsibilities
- Design and build HTTP APIs and event consumers in Go.
- Own backend data models end to end.
- Make resilience and rollout decisions and document the reasoning.
- Own production operations, including dashboards, alerts, and follow-up.
- Improve the codebase, tooling, and pipeline.
- Contribute to code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and clear technical communication.
- Collaborate with dependent teams inside and outside Disney to resolve cross-system problems.
Requirements
- Professional experience building and running backend services in production in a typed language.
- Willingness to use Go as the daily programming language; experience with Go is not required if transferable experience exists.
- Comfort with relational data, message streams or queues, and their failure modes.
- Ability to test personal work and communicate clearly in writing.
- Evidence of deep technical learning and willingness to revise technical opinions.
- Experience improving other engineers through review, pairing, or mentoring.
- Nice-to-have experience with AWS, OpenAPI code generation, OIDC, or Terraform.
