Responsibilities
- Own the squad’s technical direction, engineering strategy, and architectural decisions for embedded software systems.
- Lead design and architecture reviews for major components, features, and systems with emphasis on stability, performance, and safety-critical quality.
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and lead technical design and code reviews.
- Mentor and coach middle and senior engineers and develop future technical leaders.
- Drive AI-assisted development practices, quality gates, review protocols, and reusable workflows within the squad.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Identify and integrate open source technologies while maintaining mission-critical reliability.
- Improve long-term technical planning, sprint execution, and continuous operational readiness.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience using C, C++, Go, Python, and/or another systems programming language.
- Strong experience developing, debugging, and shipping embedded software on Linux-based or RTOS-based devices.
- Demonstrated experience building well-tested software with unit, integration, and system-level testing.
- 5+ years of mentoring junior team members and/or leading small teams.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design, and code quality verification.
- Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and tunneling is a plus.
- Familiarity with Linux-based embedded environments and real-time constraints is preferred.
- Experience with consumer or professional hardware products requiring tight security, low latency, and high stability is preferred.
- Awareness of embedded software and open source technology developments is preferred.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools with review, validation, and safety guardrails is preferred.
