Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and assure solution architectures against IT standards, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and target operating environments.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs covering application, infrastructure, data, integration, and information security considerations.
- Provide technical recommendations, resolve architectural challenges, and balance business value, feasibility, risk, and cost.
- Review detailed designs and maintain alignment with architecture principles throughout implementation.
- Create and maintain architecture artefacts using approved tools and repositories, promoting reusable patterns, reference models, and standard technology services.
- Support architecture reviews, governance, security and compliance requirements, exception management, and strategic technology roadmaps.
- Monitor technology developments and recommend innovations that optimize IT systems and improve business performance.
- Engage senior business and IT stakeholders, explain technical decisions and trade-offs, and build cross-functional relationships.
- Coach and guide developers, designers, and other IT professionals on architecture standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, suppliers, and external stakeholders to support solution delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Technical Architecture, Solution Architecture, or a closely related IT Architecture role.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing, reviewing, and assuring IT solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, technical standards, reference architectures, governance, design assurance, and exception management.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and recommendations.
- Knowledge of architectural domains and technology roadmaps covering Cloud, Integration, Mobile, Open Source, and Big Data.
- Experience with architecture documentation, modelling tools, and repositories.
- Strong English communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior business and IT leadership.
- Ability to work independently, make technical decisions within established guidelines, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Proactive approach to innovation, technology optimization, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Preferred: experience in a large, complex, or international organization; knowledge of TOGAF or ArchiMate; architecture review board experience; and experience with IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, ProVision, or comparable enterprise architecture platforms.
