Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to the architecture, design, and development of Procore’s permissions platform.
- Build application platform features that enable customization and extensibility for users, developers, and application teams.
- Lead architectural design decisions that improve scalability and performance.
- Communicate, build, and maintain platform-level initiatives and contribute to core and independent technical projects.
- Develop teammates through code reviews, mentorship, pairing, and training.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and help guide healthy software design and codebases.
- Drive key teams developing future technology designs for Procore.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or comparable work experience.
- 8+ years of combined experience in programming, SaaS/PaaS applications, frontend and backend engineering, test-driven development, and architecture design principles.
- Professional experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, or Java and React.
- Professional experience with modern authorization systems and methods such as RBAC, ReBAC, ABAC, and Cedar.
- A track record of anticipating technical problems in major projects and designing solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise building or significantly improving large features, technological areas, and architecture initiatives.
- Experience developing APIs through REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
- Experience with relational and non-relational datastores.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Expertise across modern web and backend development, including development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
