Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver, and improve scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
- Build and maintain identity services supporting authentication and authorization across Barclays’ digital banking ecosystem.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using modern programming languages and engineering tools.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, engineers, security specialists, and other functions to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, promote knowledge sharing, and apply secure coding and unit testing practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and practices to accelerate development and improve code quality.
- Manage risk, strengthen controls, and contribute to policies, procedures, and governance activities.
- Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Go, including experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts such as authentication, authorization, single sign-on, and identity federation.
- Understanding of AWS or Azure and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation tools such as GitLab CI, and Git.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and solve complex problems.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices.
- Preferred experience with Ping Identity or similar IAM platforms and APIs.
- Preferred experience with Open Policy Agent or similar policy engines and APIs.
- Preferred experience with databases, ETL solutions, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools.
- Preferred exposure to Agile/Scrum, cross-functional teams, financial services, regulated industries, compliance, and security requirements.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, resilience, and stakeholder-influence skills.
