Responsibilities
- Own the production trading environment and improve performance, reliability, and operability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale trading systems and exchange connectivity.
- Build and maintain reliability tooling for configuration management, process management, deployment, monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
- Use firm-wide metrics to improve scalability and system performance.
- Coordinate technology changes, deployments, and incidents with traders, Risk Management, Operational Trading Support, and technology teams.
- Reconcile trades and position breaks with the Clearing team.
- Assess and manage operational risk during production deployments.
- Define and document operational processes and procedures.
- Provide mentorship and cross-training to technical operations engineers.
- Handle immediate troubleshooting and support during weekend trading shifts.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant IT operations experience in areas such as DevOps, SRE, Linux Systems Engineering, or Network Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience with Python and shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of Linux, including network and system configuration, kernel internals, scheduling, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including routing, multicast, LLDP, VLANs, and Ethernet.
- Ability to manage operational risk, troubleshoot complex systems, and handle shared operational and periodic on-call duties.
- C++ experience is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, ownership-driven approach to operations and business priorities.
