Base Salary
$125k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
- Create applications that improve SpaceX operations.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
- Investigate user problems and create efficient solutions.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with engineers across SpaceX on systems supporting launches, Starship, and the Starlink network.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience.
- Programming experience in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- At least 1 year of rigorous experience building single-page web applications.
- Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts.
- Expertise in software system design, testing, build, deployment, monitoring, and application performance optimization.
- Experience with build systems such as Make, Bazel, Pants, Buck, or Gradle and package managers such as pip or npm.
- Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Experience with in-stream data processing technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Front-end experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
- Must satisfy SpaceX ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
- May be required to work extended hours or weekends depending on launch cadence.
