Responsibilities
- Design and build services supporting the complete device lifecycle, including image boot, readiness, session lifecycle, fleet integration, and teardown.
- Automate image, browser, and payload build and release processes through CI/CD pipelines with automated checks.
- Develop and operate fleet observability covering metrics, logging, tracing, image pipelines, guests, and virtual machines.
- Diagnose and permanently fix recurring lifecycle regressions using tests and automated release checks.
- Measure and reduce device boot, readiness, and teardown times while managing image and side-disk footprint.
- Lead by example through code review, pairing, testing, observability, delivery practices, and cross-team systems improvements.
Requirements
- Solid experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in production.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally including Agones or a comparable session-fleet orchestration model.
- Production coding experience in Go and/or Python, including building and maintaining CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Strong experience with observability, including metrics, logging, tracing, and adding visibility to opaque systems.
- Hands-on DevOps and Linux/Unix systems experience, including diagnosing and fixing issues on virtual machines, container hosts, or bare-metal systems.
- A track record of delivering through code review and pairing on systems operated by others.
- Valued qualifications include macOS, simctl, launchd, XPC, APFS, Apple Virtualization Framework, tart, Windows and Linux infrastructure, Appium, XCTest, WebDriver, Swift, Packer, Ansible, cloud-init, and sysprep experience.
