Responsibilities
- Lead team-level projects that improve reliability across a large distributed architecture.
- Design and build reliability solutions, internal platforms, infrastructure automation, and an AI agent for incident response.
- Act as a senior Incident Commander during major outages and lead blameless post-mortems.
- Develop and scale self-service performance testing and automated resiliency platforms, including fault injection and data center failover experiments.
- Own system reliability, technical debt, monitoring, and infrastructure improvements.
- Mentor less experienced engineers, set code-quality standards, and influence architecture decisions.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one infrastructure or backend programming language: Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, networking, and service mesh concepts.
- Experience with Chaos Engineering, fault injection, failure scenarios, and performance testing; Gatling knowledge is a plus.
- Experience configuring monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
- Experience identifying single points of failure and serving as an Incident Commander during major outages.
- Strong practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools.
- Track record of mentoring engineers, setting code-quality standards, and shaping architecture decisions.
