Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in production Kubernetes clusters running on-premises and at scale.
- Deploy, upgrade, and maintain Kubernetes cluster lifecycles.
- Work directly with customers to deploy workloads and diagnose platform-related problems.
- Improve the platform through automation and GitOps practices.
- Write and maintain operational runbooks.
- Join the on-call rotation after completing onboarding.
- Identify degradation and potential incidents proactively and take ownership of problems through resolution.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including operating and debugging production clusters under load, during upgrades, and across networking and storage layers.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and systematic troubleshooting skills.
- Practical GitOps experience, preferably with ArgoCD.
- Experience writing and maintaining Helm charts.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking at the CNI level, including Cilium, ingress, load balancing, and DNS.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes storage, including CSI, persistent volumes, and stateful workloads.
- Ability to explain technical problems and their consequences to customers and other non-team stakeholders.
- English proficiency at C1 level.
- CKA, CKAD, or CKS certification is advantageous, with CKA preferred.
- Experience with Cluster API, kubeadm, or Rancher/RKE2 for cluster deployment and upgrades is advantageous.
- Python scripting and automation experience is advantageous.
- Public open-source contributions, talks, blog posts, or additional certifications such as Kubestronaut are advantageous.
