Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

Base Salary
$146k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable, reusable frontend components and shared libraries for GlossGenius web applications
- Define the long-term technical direction, architecture patterns, framework decisions, and developer experience for the web platform
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver a cohesive web experience
- Establish frontend standards for code quality, accessibility, performance, and design system consistency
- Improve frontend tooling, build pipelines, and developer workflows
- Champion effective and responsible adoption of AI-powered development tools
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architecture decisions, and cross-functional discussions
- Identify and solve systemic problems affecting multiple teams
- Contribute frontend expertise to mobile efforts when applicable
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience focused on web development
- Deep expertise in React and JavaScript and strong knowledge of modern frontend architecture
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, and responsive or adaptive design
- Experience building and evolving component libraries, design systems, or shared UI frameworks at scale
- Deep understanding of web performance, including bundle optimization, lazy loading, rendering strategies, Core Web Vitals, and profiling
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot
- Ability to independently drive ambiguous projects through production delivery
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction
- Familiarity with React Native or cross-platform mobile development is preferred but not required
