Base Salary
$228k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and ownership for platform architecture, data ingestion, and normalization supporting a scalable search experience.
- Define and lead complex technical projects across the full stack.
- Design and develop fault-tolerant, scalable, highly available, modular, and well-tested software systems.
- Define reliability KPIs, establish service-health accountability, and lead improvements that reduce technical debt, manual toil, and infrastructure costs.
- Integrate AI, data pipelines, and telemetry systems to automate workflows.
- Champion automated CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to identify and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Inspire, recruit, mentor, and share knowledge with fellow engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience developing comprehensive, well-tested, high-performance software applications.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- 5+ years of experience with React and Node.js.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-team impact.
- Knowledge of software development and architecture best practices, evolving AI technologies, and operational excellence.
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, technical empathy, design judgment, and attention to detail.
- Preferred: backend programming experience with Java, Golang, or Python.
- Preferred: experience with Kafka, event-driven systems, gRPC, Thrift, and other server-to-server communication protocols.

- Base pay range is $228,000-$240,000, with possible bonuses and restricted stock units excluded from the base salary.
