Responsibilities
- Develop localisation, mapping, calibration, and state-estimation algorithms for autonomous construction vehicles.
- Build continuous robot-localisation systems that combine camera, depth, and IMU data.
- Design vision systems, select cameras and sensors, and train models to assess bricks, mortar, and construction objects.
- Implement robust production-level software and own projects from start to finish.
- Continuously measure sensing-system performance, characterise error sources, and perform root-cause analysis in field conditions.
Requirements
- Industry experience building and deploying 3D vision systems into production.
- Deep, hands-on experience with LiDAR, IMU, and depth-camera sensor systems.
- Experience with mapping, localisation, and state-estimation algorithms such as VI-SLAM, VIO, ICP, and Kalman filters.
- Ideally, experience with real-time deep-learning computer vision, such as multi-object tracking.
- Software engineering experience with C, C++, Python, Rust, or comparable languages beyond notebook-based work.
- Experience with Git, unit testing, and automated deployment.
- Strong ownership, motivation, bias for action, and ability to ship and iterate quickly.
Benefits
- Work onsite five days per week at Monumental’s Amsterdam city-centre facility, which includes a workshop and robot testing floor.
