Responsibilities
- Develop backend features with PHP 8.x and Symfony, including domain logic, APIs, and integrations.
- Build frontend features with TypeScript, React, and TanStack for modern product workflows.
- Develop Node.js services with TypeScript and Next.js.
- Work on Java and Kotlin JVM microservices for the e-invoicing area.
- Migrate data, refactor existing modules, and modernize legacy PHP areas.
- Analyze and debug complex system failures and performance issues.
- Take responsibility for complete projects from initial idea through stable operation.
- Use Claude Code extensively as part of the engineering workflow.
- Contribute to infrastructure and local Docker-based development environments as needed.
Requirements
- Deep, independent senior-level software development experience with PHP and Symfony, including domain design, testing, and performance in a large, long-lived codebase.
- Strong TypeScript and, depending on focus, React experience.
- Confident use of relational databases such as MySQL, including query optimization and data modeling for large datasets.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions, work independently, learn new systems quickly, and maintain high engineering quality.
- Fluent German and good English skills.
- Experience with Node.js, data structures and algorithms, distributed systems, data-intensive applications, Java, or Kotlin is a bonus.
- Open-source contributions or public experiments on GitHub are a bonus.
- Exceptional engineers from other technology stacks are also encouraged to apply.
