Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize horizontally and vertically scalable distributed-system components for large-scale data retrieval, storage, processing, and distributed state management.
- Design fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, recovery-oriented principles, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop and execute performance, load, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out testing scenarios.
- Build alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting systems to detect failures and monitor component health.
- Draft and execute operational runbooks, diagnose system issues, participate in incident response and root cause investigations, and support operational rotations.
- Implement replication and synchronization techniques to preserve data integrity and availability.
- Develop automation scripts, troubleshooting tools, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, remediation plans, change management, and compliance documentation standards.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, learning, and cross-team process improvement skills.
