Base Salary
$130k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the feel of Rho’s product through motion, microinteractions, transitions, gestures, and interaction physics.
- Build novel animation primitives, interaction patterns, and production-quality components and libraries.
- Implement the real product experiences in code rather than limiting work to Figma prototypes.
- Define and encode motion standards using systems such as design tokens, easing curves, timing, and springs.
- Set the craft bar for product motion and improve the quality of other engineers’ work through reusable systems.
- Pay close attention to fine interaction details including pixel alignment, timing, focus rings, and animated numerical changes.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building production interfaces.
- Strong React, TypeScript, and CSS coding ability, including building complex interactions.
- A portfolio, personal site, component library, shipped work, or live demos showing unusually crafted production work.
- Deep expertise and strong opinions about motion, animation timing, springs, easing, and when not to animate.
- Demonstrated craft-focused experience building and iterating on difficult interaction problems.
- Ability to set the product’s motion and interaction quality bar and influence others through shipped work and systems.
