Responsibilities
- Design, configure, develop, test, deploy, and support ServiceNow applications, modules, scoped applications, and platform capabilities.
- Build data models, forms, workflows, Flow Designer flows and subflows, business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, notifications, and related components.
- Design and support secure REST/SOAP integrations using Integration Hub, import sets, transform maps, authentication methods, scripted REST APIs, and MID Server.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, administrators, QA, security, and other engineers to refine requirements and deliver platform solutions.
- Apply ServiceNow security controls and secure scripting practices, and improve solution performance, maintainability, accessibility, data integrity, and upgrade compatibility.
- Document solution designs, configurations, integrations, technical decisions, deployment procedures, and operational support processes.
- Mentor junior associates through design and code reviews and promote reusable ServiceNow development standards and patterns.
- Contribute to Agile delivery, source control, application repository practices, CI/CD automation, governance, testing, deployment, and continuous platform improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering or related experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow application development in an enterprise environment.
- Experience independently delivering moderately complex ServiceNow solutions from requirements refinement and technical design through deployment and production support.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow scoped applications, tables and data models, forms, lists, business rules, scripts, UI policies, notifications, and access control rules.
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with ServiceNow server-side and client-side APIs, including Glide Record and related Glide APIs.
- Experience with Flow Designer, Integration Hub, REST/SOAP web services, scripted REST APIs, import sets, transform maps, authentication methods, and MID Server.
- Experience with update sets, application repository or source control, instance promotion, upgrade validation, release verification, clone planning, and post-clone validation.
- Understanding of ServiceNow security, performance, data integrity, governance, maintainability, and upgradeability practices.
- Deep experience in one or more ServiceNow areas such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, CSM, HRSD, SPM, or App Engine.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and secure SDLC practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, independent working, collaboration, mentoring, judgment, and continuous-learning abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification is preferred; ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification is strongly preferred.
