Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant Java-based real-time and end-of-day risk data solutions.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Pinot for streaming, event processing, and low-latency analytics.
- Design, develop, and operate end-to-end real-time data pipelines integrating S3 and Trino.
- Drive code quality, performance optimization, data reliability, scalability, and system resilience through hands-on leadership and peer reviews.
- Mentor and technically guide senior and lead developers.
- Own contributions across architecture, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, quality assurance teams, and engineering leads.
- Evaluate emerging technologies in real-time processing, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive experience in data engineering and software development, focused substantially on large-scale distributed systems.
- Expert command of Java 11 or higher, including concurrency, multithreading, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and performance tuning.
- Production experience with Apache Kafka or related streaming technologies, Apache Flink or related stream-processing technologies, and Apache Pinot or related low-latency analytics technologies.
- Strong expertise designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and resilient distributed systems.
- Extensive experience with large-scale storage such as S3 or HDFS and distributed query engines such as Trino/Presto or Spark SQL.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex query optimization for large datasets.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and teams in an Agile software development environment.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, problem-solving, and consensus-building skills.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud-native data services; Kubernetes or OpenShift; high-performance APIs and event-driven architectures; performance profiling and optimization; financial derivatives, fixed income, and risk management; data governance, quality, and security; and geographically distributed teams.
- A strong academic record and ideally a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical or quantitative discipline are preferred.
