Responsibilities
- Define and govern secure cloud architectures by selecting and approving DoD SRG- and FedRAMP-compliant services.
- Develop security architectures, control frameworks, policy artifacts, and technical patterns aligned with federal cybersecurity requirements.
- Establish Zero Trust security patterns covering identity, access, segmentation, monitoring, data protection, and compliance enforcement.
- Provide architectural direction for DevSecOps integration, vulnerability assessment, security compliance enforcement, and secure cloud deployments.
- Assess cloud configurations, network security controls, application security practices, vulnerabilities, threats, and unusual activity, and recommend risk-reduction improvements.
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, control reviews, and compliance assessments and prepare leadership-level findings.
- Support cybersecurity incident response, including investigation, containment, root cause analysis, and post-event analysis.
- Provide security training, technical guidance, and architectural recommendations to colleagues, stakeholders, and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience developing, implementing, securing, or managing cloud environments, particularly in government, federal, defense, or secure IT settings.
- Expert knowledge of cloud security architecture, secure cloud design patterns, cybersecurity frameworks, compliance controls, and federal cloud security requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, including secure service selection, configuration, and governance.
- Strong understanding of DoD SRG, FedRAMP, DISA requirements, Zero Trust principles, and security control implementation.
- Experience with security audits, vulnerability management, incident response, risk assessments, continuous monitoring, and cloud security architecture artifacts.
- Cloud architecture or security certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or CCSP are preferred.
- DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
