Base Salary
$170k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build security-critical AI agents that automate network and systems defense for Starshield.
- Use AI to discover and fix security issues in Starshield infrastructure and systems.
- Guide and test AI integrations in new and existing Starshield systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve security through automation and AI.
- Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations to other engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline and at least five years of professional security software development experience, or at least seven years of professional security software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with one or more software development languages, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience designing and implementing solutions with LLMs, LLM-based agents, or other AI technologies.
- Understanding of cryptography, authentication, network security, and operating system security.
- Experience designing, prompting, and securing agents capable of long-running autonomous tasks.
- Experience red-teaming or penetration-testing LLMs, including prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data exfiltration.
- Experience deploying and managing LLMs and their infrastructure for reliable, scalable operation.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, collaboration, and independent-working abilities.
- An advanced technical or engineering degree and an active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance are preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

- Base salary range is $170,000.00 to $265,000.00.
