Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, code, and debug mainframe applications and complex software components.
- Resolve production issues for LIFECOMM/L70 and related interface systems.
- Perform end-to-end software development and testing, including unit test planning and execution.
- Create technical specification documents, conduct technical walkthroughs, and obtain stakeholder sign-offs.
- Support program management activities through regular status reporting and timely escalation of risks and challenges.
- Apply generative AI tools to code analysis, debugging, documentation, code conversion, and development productivity.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of mainframe application development and maintenance experience.
- Expertise in the life insurance and annuity domain.
- Experience with Assembler, COBOL, CICS, MVS/JCL, VSAM, Easytrieve, DB2, and TSO/ISPF.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in coding and debugging complex software components.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
- Awareness and hands-on experience with generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Amazon Q.
- Advanced degree, relevant certifications, or training are preferred.
