Base Salary
$179k - $269k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute systems engineering for multiple autonomy behavior components in the autonomy software stack.
- Write performance requirements for features and functions across nominal operations, vehicle and environmental variations, and operational-domain boundaries.
- Lead system-level performance analysis and build evaluation pipelines, including designing metrics, defining targets, and conducting novel research.
- Develop metrics and dashboards for driving behavior and system performance to support decisions and prioritize efforts.
- Analyze test results, identify system performance and functional gaps, and work with stakeholders on mitigations.
- Collaborate with the Integration and Test team to develop and execute design verification plans for feature launch readiness.
- Periodically evaluate the product hands-on and provide expert feedback to relevant teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or a PhD.
- Experience in motion planning, motion control, or robotics.
- Experience analyzing, developing metrics for, verifying, or validating complex robotics systems, preferably autonomous systems.
- Experience performing analyses and formulating requirements that inform decisions.
- Experience using scientific methods for trade studies, testing, and problem solving; formal verification familiarity is a plus.
- Programming experience in Python, C++, or a similar language.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to remote offices and test facilities as needed.
- Motion planning or robotics background, Jira or similar ticketing-system experience, and Jama or similar requirements-management-system familiarity are preferred.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.
