Responsibilities
- Define and adopt GM manufacturing IT robotics capabilities.
- Identify and streamline robotics engineering processes with manufacturing engineering subject-matter experts.
- Develop ML/DL and computer vision solutions for real-world environments.
- Design, simulate, visualize, and deploy scalable robotics solutions based on research artifacts.
- Understand system interfaces and constraints to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Travel to GM plants and facilities as needed, including approximately 20–25% travel in North America.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in robotics software development.
- Knowledge of Python and Java.
- Knowledge and experience with ROS and MoveIt.
- Knowledge of linear algebra, computer vision, and software development.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Preferred: experience with ML/DL, computer vision, data mining, visualization, simulation, Docker, K8, HPC platforms, Linux, bash scripts, additional programming languages, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, and real-time systems.
