Responsibilities
- Ensure service reliability and uptime in production and test environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide third-level troubleshooting support when required.
- Monitor the uptime and performance of production systems.
- Perform system administration tasks including patching, report generation, and some database administration.
- Improve tools and automation to reduce repetitive work and increase consistency.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to meet product requirements and influence system design and implementation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in production operations, SRE, or a similar role.
- Understanding of software systems concepts including networking, firewalls, protocols, and databases.
- Experience with Linux, preferably CentOS, Bash, and Maven or Gradle.
- Experience with Windows, PowerShell, and NuGet.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MS SQL and Cassandra.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Experience with containerization or virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMware, or OpenShift Kubernetes.
- Experience with load-balancing tools such as HAProxy, Nginx, or F5.
- Experience with Cassandra, Zookeeper, Hadoop, Kafka, MS SQL, or MongoDB is an asset.
- Experience leading or mentoring others is an asset.
- Understanding of software delivery practices such as feature toggling and no-downtime deployment is an asset.
