Base Salary
$220k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap for one or more core platform areas while balancing speed, quality, security, and scalability.
- Write, review, and ship production code and improve engineering coding and review practices.
- Use generative AI tools to improve technical and non-technical work and help teammates adopt them.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex production issues and drive postmortems and preventive fixes.
- Lead improvements across the enterprise software development lifecycle, including how software is built, deployed, and operated.
- Build demos, prototypes, examples, and technical content to support adoption of new technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, sales executives, and other stakeholders in an in-person environment.
- Mentor and unblock engineers while setting technical direction and resolving systemic issues such as technical debt and reliability gaps.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including direct experience with Python, Terraform, and AWS.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and making architectural decisions across multiple systems or teams without formal people-management authority.
- Proficiency with backend technologies such as Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js, or Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Vercel.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with RPC technologies and API architectures including gRPC or GraphQL.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.
- Experience with source code versioning tools such as Git or Perforce.
- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed application design at scale.
- Familiarity with AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock, or SageMaker.
- Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade applications with 99%+ service-level availability.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Terraform, and GCP.
- Experience building platforms or tools for engineering teams, acting as a de facto technical lead, translating ambiguous problems into technical plans, and mentoring engineers is preferred.
