Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Ship features connecting meeting preparation, capture, and review into a unified desktop experience.
- Implement cross-application UI unification across Read’s desktop experience.
- Expand native meeting capture across Windows and macOS.
- Prototype on-device transcription and audio processing and collect signals to strengthen AI capabilities.
- Integrate external devices to improve capture quality.
- Write maintainable, well-tested Rust and establish productive codebase patterns and conventions.
- Own release quality, including signing, notarization, auto-update, and crash telemetry.
- Partner with product and design on roadmap definition and technical possibilities unique to desktop.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including meaningful desktop or client application work.
- Experience shipping installed software to real users on Windows, macOS, or both and supporting it after launch.
- Working proficiency in Rust, or deep systems experience in a comparable language with a genuine willingness to learn Rust.
- Ability to work across the native and web boundary with React and TypeScript.
- Practical knowledge of operating-system permissions, device access, background processes, packaging, and distribution.
- Authorized to work in the US; the company does not sponsor visas for this role.
