Base Salary
$183k - $223k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop high-impact machine learning solutions for Uber Freight’s marketplace and operations.
- Lead the lifecycle of predictive models, including opportunity identification, research, prototyping, production deployment, and monitoring.
- Apply traditional machine learning to optimize logistics operations and network effects.
- Guide the integration of generative AI and agentic systems into production solutions.
- Communicate algorithm choices and ML system concepts to leadership, technical peers, and industry experts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, production-ready models.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of software engineering or ML engineering experience.
- Experience with Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience designing and implementing machine learning models in production environments with large datasets.
- Strong understanding of machine learning theory and algorithms, including deep learning, instance-based learning, and traditional statistical models.
- Preferred MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience applying machine learning to generative AI and large language model applications.
- Preferred experience with stream processing and graph processing technologies.
