Responsibilities
- Translate product goals and business needs into platform architecture, technical priorities, and delivery plans.
- Define component interfaces and ownership boundaries for an autonomous engineering team.
- Design and implement high-quality production code for critical platform areas.
- Lead delivery from architecture and design through production with predictable quality and operational readiness.
- Improve platform scalability, safe evolution, operation, and supportability.
- Add and govern AI-enabled capabilities that address user problems and can be evaluated and monitored.
- Partner with product owners and stakeholders on technical trade-offs and business-aligned investment.
- Provide technical architecture guidance in a global cloud operations organization supporting customer cloud transformations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including architectural or technical leadership and ownership of production SAP BTP applications across multiple releases.
- Deep hands-on expertise with SAP CAP using Node.js/CDS, SAPUI5, SAP Fiori elements, SAP HANA Cloud, cloud deployment, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Practical experience with enterprise generative AI orchestration, including prompt templating, RAG or vector grounding, data masking, content filtering, and tool or function calling.
- Ability to set technical direction, make pragmatic architecture decisions, and ensure engineering quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
- Fluent English; additional languages are an asset.
- Solution Architect - SAP BTP certification or related credentials are advantageous.
- Experience with Joule, Joule Studio, SAP AI Core, its generative AI hub, SAP Build, SAP Integration Suite, or comparable technologies is preferred.
- Open-source contributions are valued.
- Knowledge of secure API design, service-to-service communication, identity management, authorization, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
