Responsibilities
- Build backend systems for AI creation workflows, collaborative projects, and community features including sharing, discovery, contests, profiles, and follows.
- Own features and bugs from ideation through release and follow-up, define API contracts, and coordinate frontend work.
- Improve responsiveness, progress updates, failure recovery, correctness, latency, and reliability.
- Diagnose and remove database and service bottlenecks under high traffic.
- Define success metrics, build dashboards and alerts, and monitor adoption and system health after launch.
- Design and operate secure, scalable services involving asynchronous workflows, caching, authorization, tenant isolation, and concurrent collaboration.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in database modeling, indexes, query plans, partitioning, transactions, locking, and production performance diagnosis.
- Strong architecture judgment across service boundaries, APIs, asynchronous workflows, caching, and failure handling.
- Hands-on Kubernetes and CI/CD experience spanning design, testing, deployment, and debugging.
- Track record of shipping and operating backend systems across multiple projects and high-traffic workloads with measurable results.
- Experience with API authentication, object-level authorization, tenant isolation, and preventing IDOR vulnerabilities.
- Experience building or studying social networks and collaborative tools, including feeds, follow graphs, notifications, sharing permissions, real-time synchronization, and concurrent edits.
- High agency, ownership, adaptability, constructive communication, and willingness to work through an intense pace and urgent production issues.
