Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core platform features including data orchestration, verification workflows, and API infrastructure.
- Own complex features end to end from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Write clean, tested, performant code with strong attention to reliability, scalability, and security.
- Drive architectural decisions and influence the technical roadmap through RFCs, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Mentor and pair with engineers, conduct code reviews, and improve engineering standards and culture.
- Participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response, and improve platform reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, customer success, sales, and operations to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Contribute to AI-powered document intelligence, website analysis, anomaly detection, fraud detection, and compliance automation features.
- Drive improvements to reduce technical debt, improve system performance, and enhance developer productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, and TypeScript/Node.js.
- Deep understanding of backend systems, distributed architectures, API design, and SQL and NoSQL database optimization.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, high-throughput systems and owning complex technical projects through delivery.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering culture.
- Preferred experience includes fintech, compliance, identity verification, fraud detection, AI/ML systems, document processing, computer vision, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, open source, high-growth startups, and global compliance regulations such as KYC, KYB, AML, and GDPR.
