Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of safety-rated and non-safety-rated firmware subsystems in Rust on heterogeneous multi-core platforms.
- Set technical direction across sensor processing, including driver integration, frame acquisition, point-cloud generation, and collision detection.
- Own complex end-to-end technical problems and influence hardware, functional safety, and navigation teams.
- Conduct design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and raise engineering quality.
- Produce design documents and safety-analysis artifacts for third-party certification and witness testing.
- Lead debugging and root-cause analysis from raw sensor data through safety responses on test and production robots.
- Profile pipelines, manage latency budgets, and use AI coding assistants to improve team productivity.
Requirements
- 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 6+ years of programming experience with at least one programming language.
- 6+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Proficiency in embedded Rust, or strong modern embedded C/C++ experience with demonstrated willingness and ability to work in Rust.
- Preferred: 6+ years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with RTOS or bare-metal real-time systems and heterogeneous multi-core platforms.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting hardware and writing low-level drivers such as V4L2, I2C, SPI, and DMA.
- Preferred: experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or similar RPC and serialization frameworks.
- Preferred: familiarity with IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 safety-controlled development environments.
- Preferred: knowledge of 3D geometry, coordinate transforms, point-cloud processing, ROS or ROS2, and visualization tools such as Foxglove or RViz.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
