Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage shared application platforms, including Kubernetes clusters and Jenkins infrastructure.
  • Operate enterprise Jenkins as a shared service with controller and agent architectures, tenancy isolation, RBAC, plugin governance, and Kubernetes-based agents.
  • Build secure, scalable Kubernetes platforms and establish standards, guardrails, onboarding practices, and self-service capabilities.
  • Automate platform provisioning, upgrades, patching, scaling, backup and restore, and component lifecycle management.
  • Implement secure-by-default architectures covering secrets, certificates, IAM, RBAC, and network controls.
  • Partner with application, security, and enterprise engineering teams on onboarding, troubleshooting, and production readiness without owning application code or tenant pipelines.
  • Provide monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, incident response, and continuous improvements to platform reliability, scalability, performance, and developer experience.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant IT experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 5 years of relevant experience without a bachelor's degree.
  • Strong Linux system administration experience, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and OS-level security hardening.
  • Hands-on Docker experience covering image and container lifecycle management, Dockerfiles, image optimization, networking, and runtime troubleshooting.
  • Deep Kubernetes operations experience covering cluster architecture, workloads, networking, manifests, Helm, upgrades, scaling, backup and restore, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience administering Jenkins at scale, including installation, upgrades, plugin governance, configuration management, shared and multi-tenant CI, and Kubernetes-based agents.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD platform concepts, pipeline enablement, build/test/deployment automation, reliability, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with Splunk or Datadog for dashboards, alerting, SLA/SLO tracking, log analysis, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Experience provisioning and operating cloud infrastructure, including AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC.
  • Strong networking fundamentals covering DNS, IP addressing, routing, load balancing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to automate with Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages and experience with Git-based version control and repository governance.
  • Preferred experience includes platform engineering or DevOps enablement, Kubernetes microservices, Gateway API, NGINX Ingress, Kong, Apigee, Istio, MetalLB, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform, CloudFormation, GitOps, Argo CD, Flux, and Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
  • Preferred experience includes security and compliance practices, certificate lifecycle management, secrets handling, network policies, and Apigee API proxy development, policy configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, operational discipline, collaboration, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning are expected.
