Base Salary
$123k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant control of a 20kW+ spacecraft.
- Develop software applications controlling propulsion, guidance and attitude control, thermal, power, and communications subsystems.
- Design and implement state machines for robust spacecraft operation.
- Author drivers for microcontroller peripherals and external sensors.
- Create and use tools that enable rapid deployment of quality software.
- Perform data analysis and anomaly investigation to identify and resolve software bugs.
- Support spacecraft subsystem integration and testing.
- Build and maintain infrastructure that improves software development and testing reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Development experience in C, C++, or Rust.
- Preferred experience includes spacecraft flight software, Linux systems programming and driver development, hard real-time embedded systems, Rust production environments, fault-tolerant software, state machines, software verification, performance analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop or hardware-out-of-the-loop test systems.
- Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.
