Responsibilities

  • Support government-sponsored research, development, integration, and testing of wireless terrestrial and satellite communication systems.
  • Adapt and extend commercial systems for novel applications and environments and contribute to internal development efforts.
  • Design, develop, automate, document, execute, and debug tests while working with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • For the embedded software track, develop real-time embedded software and work with cellular systems, communications systems, debugging tools, and digital signal processing.
  • For the software-in-test track, design and develop Python test automation frameworks and evaluate wireless communications systems through drive tests, logging, and post-analysis.
  • Occasionally travel and communicate effectively in a technical, global environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027, from May through September.
  • Expected graduation date of November 2027 or later.
  • At least 1 year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Preferred candidates anticipate graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Preferred qualifications include real-time embedded software, cellular systems, communications systems, Git, Gerrit, JTAG, IDEs, gdb, digital signal processing, software vulnerability analysis, and IDA Pro experience.
  • Preferred software-in-test qualifications include Python test automation, cellular systems, wireless drive testing and post-analysis, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, Linux, Android, iOS, Git, Jenkins, Testlink, and Docker.
