Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product managers and architects to deliver cloud-based solutions, define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Use programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools to build enterprise platform capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and distributed-system performance improvement.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it, you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: Experience with databases, AWS, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: Experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using AI-based coding tools and interactive AI tooling, mentoring engineers, applying observability to distributed systems, and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Preferred: Experience establishing coding standards and design patterns across teams.
