Responsibilities
- Design firmware components or portions of projects under oversight.
- Provide firmware support for product development and sustaining engineering.
- Perform product and design verification testing.
- Assist with production implementation plans and write product work instructions and process documents.
- Initiate and implement engineering change requests.
- Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and provide input on schedules, budgets, and risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Software/Firmware Engineering.
- No previous experience required.
- Basic working knowledge of embedded microcontroller or microprocessor firmware, including C or C++.
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Basic understanding of digital circuit design and troubleshooting.
- Basic familiarity with digital-circuit schematics and ECAD tools such as Altium, PCAD, or Protel.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers for troubleshooting PCBs and electronic products.
- Preferred: experience supporting products technically across company departments.
- Preferred: experience debugging and prototyping embedded systems.
