Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies.
- Design and execute unit tests to validate application functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with business, product, quality assurance, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to development standards and continuous improvement.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code walkthroughs, and solution reviews.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, test evidence, and change records for audit and compliance requirements.
- Support transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement, compliance, production support, and modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of COBOL programming experience.
- Knowledge of IBM z/OS mainframe systems.
- Foundational knowledge of IMS DB/DC, CICS, VSAM, IMS, DB2, and MQ Series.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, testing methodologies, and change management processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies is a bonus.
- Experience in card payments, debit processing, financial services, payment processing, transaction management, reconciliation, settlement, modernization, API integration, compliance, security remediation, or vulnerability management is beneficial.
