Base Salary
$113k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend RESTful API web services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Design, test, deploy, and maintain software for Caterpillar’s AWS-hosted digital platform.
- Lead development and support groups, mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Identify and resolve complex application and technical problems.
- Lead development of new functionality on cross-functional project teams.
- Maintain software quality through development standards, documentation, and effective engineering practices.
Requirements
- Experience developing software with Java 17 or higher and Spring Boot RESTful APIs.
- Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with message streaming solutions, data stores, and CI/CD tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of software development, software product design and architecture, decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication is required.
- Ability to work from Chicago, Illinois; relocation assistance is not available.
