Responsibilities
- Build performant search and indexing systems for complex, permissioned data.
- Contribute to open-source data-processing libraries and distributed systems supporting large-scale compute workloads.
- Design architecture and opinionated APIs that simplify application development.
- Develop tracing and performance observability for high-scale distributed microservice architectures.
- Build reliable and scalable storage, authentication, and asset-serving systems for other product teams.
- Automate deployment, management, and operations of distributed systems across different environments.
- Potentially participate in Frontline assignments involving customer workshops, architecture, custom applications, and end-to-end delivery of high-stakes projects.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable and reliable infrastructure systems in production.
- An engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
- Strong coding skills in languages such as Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with storage and data-processing systems, cloud infrastructure, and other technical tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to iterate quickly, incorporate feedback, and maintain a high quality bar.
- Experience with highly available distributed systems and an active or obtainable US security clearance are beneficial but not required.
