Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and maintainable infrastructure systems using technologies such as Chef, Terraform, Go, PHP, Prometheus, and Consul.
- Operate, monitor, measure, troubleshoot, and improve large-scale infrastructure and services.
- Automate operating system and core application upgrades and reduce operational toil.
- Manage infrastructure supporting asset delivery, asynchronous compute processing, and scheduled tasks for etsy.com and its mobile apps.
- Build automation and processes that enable teams to deploy, configure, scale, and monitor applications.
- Identify and implement application reliability and availability improvements.
- Lead and participate in blameless incident resolution and continuous improvement processes.
Requirements
- Have 2–4 years of software engineering experience focused on systems or infrastructure, network engineering, SRE, or DevOps, ideally in cloud environments.
- Demonstrate strong TCP networking knowledge, including CDN, DNS, CloudNAT, and A record/CNAME configuration.
- Have hands-on experience administering and debugging Linux servers in production.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to diagnose performance issues and tune Linux environments.
- Be familiar with GCP, AWS, virtual-machine architectures, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
- Use infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration-management frameworks such as Chef or Ansible.
- Be fluent in at least one modern programming language, including Go, Python, PHP, or Ruby.
- Understand and apply SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs meaningfully.
- Demonstrate ownership of complex, loosely defined problems and a commitment to long-term system improvements.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a continuous-improvement engineering environment.
