Responsibilities
- Create and configure production and non-production cloud environments using platform and automation tools.
- Design, develop, and enhance Go-based backend services and microservices.
- Build and consume RESTful and gRPC APIs for catalog, metadata, entitlement, playback authorization, and device registration functions.
- Integrate services with AWS cloud services and define API contracts, data models, concurrency models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
- Lead feature delivery from design through deployment, validation, production stabilization, and rollback activities.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and regression test suites.
- Participate in code reviews, release activities, production incident management, root cause analysis, and on-call support.
- Provide effort estimates, technical guidance, risk assessments, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience is required; the posting also states a minimum of 9 years of relevant Go and AWS cloud development experience and 18 years of total experience.
- Strong Go programming experience, including interfaces, structures, slices, maps, goroutines, channels, context propagation, error handling, modules, testing, mocking, benchmarking, profiling, and race detection.
- Experience building RESTful and gRPC APIs, designing microservices, and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Fargate, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with Git, Docker, infrastructure as code, deployment strategies, distributed application troubleshooting, production incident management, and technical reviews.
- Preferred experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms; HLS, DASH, DRM, CDN, SSAI, and video-on-demand technologies; AWS media services; Kafka; Terraform; AWS CDK; CloudFormation; Kubernetes; Redis; observability tools; and AWS certifications.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education is required.
