Base Salary
$198k - $331k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve core query engine infrastructure.
- Work on query execution engine and distributed compute layer.
- Design and implement new capabilities for Nova.
- Drive cost and performance improvements at scale.
- Own projects that reduce infrastructure costs while improving performance.
- Strengthen Nova’s reliability and participate in on-call rotations.
- Lead design and execution of multi-month projects.
- Mentor engineers on distributed systems and system design.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
- Hands-on experience with analytical/OLAP systems.
- Proven track record of cost optimization on cloud infrastructure.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and performance optimization.
- Production experience with modern cloud infrastructure like AWS.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.
- Demonstrated technical influence and mentoring capabilities.
