Responsibilities
- Define target architecture, technical solutions, components, integrations, interfaces, deployments, and key design decisions for the platform or product.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into implementable patterns, standards, and technical decisions.
- Provide technical leadership to one squad and coordinate dependencies, consistency, and standards across squads and technical stakeholders.
- Establish architecture reviews, ADRs, standards, guardrails, quality gates, and technical acceptance criteria.
- Review architectures, designs, components, APIs, integrations, and proposed squad solutions while identifying risks and guiding implementation decisions.
- Design or evolve Azure cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes and Docker with attention to resilience, scalability, security, operability, and cost.
- Define and improve CI/CD practices, delivery automation, quality gates, artifact management, and promotion between environments.
- Maintain an end-to-end view of backend and frontend architecture across teams and technologies.
- Design or oversee AI-agent product capabilities involving tool use, orchestration, agent harnesses, and integration with existing systems and APIs.
- Assess emerging AI ecosystem capabilities and convert them into practical product innovation opportunities.
- Raise the squad's technical standard through architecture reviews, mentoring, and clear quality criteria.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in software architecture and technical leadership, including solution design, APIs, integrations, non-functional requirements, and architectural patterns.
- Strong backend expertise and solid understanding of frontend architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript in modern software and AI solutions.
- Experience with automated pipelines, containers, Kubernetes, Azure or AKS, and infrastructure as code.
- Hands-on knowledge of AI agents, orchestration, tool calling, MCP, Semantic Kernel, LLM/RAG integration, evaluation, observability, and production readiness.
- Experience with squad leadership, architecture ownership, and cross-team coordination.
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
- Preferred experience with observability, security, SRE practices, event-driven architectures, microservices, LLMOps, AgentOps, and enterprise or regulated environments.
