Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems for regulatory and risk management needs.
- Design and deliver robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with product managers and cross-functional partners.
- Develop solutions using full-stack programming languages, databases, messaging systems, containers, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams by establishing standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and optimize performance in distributed systems.
- Evaluate emerging tools and practices and influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years of coding experience with more than two of Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, Java, SQL, and Python.
- Preferred: 3+ years of database and database management systems experience and 3+ years of cloud experience.
- Preferred: experience with open source frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring engineers, using observability to optimize distributed-system performance, and leading large-scale technical initiatives.
- Preferred: experience establishing coding standards and design patterns, using interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion, and applying Spec-Driven Development.
