Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain software architectures and applications supporting reliable, modular automated test stations.
- Translate system requirements into software specifications and improve software performance, usability, and integration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Execute project tasks and work packages while meeting technical, schedule, customer, traceability, and development-standard requirements.
- Coordinate technical exchanges concerning requirements, interfaces, and design considerations.
- Create user guides, technical specifications, design records, release notes, and other software documentation.
- Develop maintainable code in multiple languages, including object-oriented languages such as C++, using safe coding practices.
- Participate in peer reviews, team best practices, engineering rigor, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- At least 2 years of software development experience, preferably involving embedded or aerospace software and hands-on design, implementation, and testing.
- Understanding of software development and verification workflows, including requirements traceability, structured peer reviews, test coverage analysis, formal problem reporting, and requirements management tools.
- Proficiency in Visual Studio .NET development with experience using C++ or C#, including Visual Studio workload configurations, diagnostics, extensions, and code profiling.
- Experience with source control and software development toolchains such as SVN, Git, DOORS, or ClearQuest.
- Preferred experience with test automation, automated test equipment, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and digital/analog I/O instrumentation.
- Preferred experience with ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, MIL-STD-1553, UART, RS-422, and fiber-optic communication systems.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware-software integration.
- Preferred working knowledge of Python for automated scripts, tools, or test frameworks.
- An active U.S. Government Secret-or-higher clearance is preferred, and the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is required based on program needs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
