Responsibilities
- Perform application systems analysis and programming tasks of significant complexity.
- Design new systems and major modifications in accordance with design guidelines, time constraints, cost controls, and flexibility requirements.
- Provide technical and programming leadership, consulting, training, and mentoring to programming staff and other stakeholders.
- Lead or advise technical and programming projects, coordinating activities across programming and operating departments from inception through completion.
- Gather requirements, participate in feasibility and refinement sessions, define system scope and objectives, and evaluate software packages.
- Drive improvements in business and technical processes, system capabilities, infrastructure, automation, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain platform documentation and provide clear technical, application, and procedural guidance.
- Work with minimal supervision, manage interdependencies and contingencies, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience.
- Extensive programming experience, including experience in Software Developer roles or outside the organization.
- Proven technical and programming leadership, systems analysis, and expertise in complex applications.
- Ability to mentor and train programming staff and act as an advisor or project leader.
- Proficient in the programming language required by the applicable business unit.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, written communication, documentation, customer service, adaptability, and project-completion skills.
- Ability to work effectively within teams, motivate coworkers, manage multiple deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform continuous computer work, extensive reading, written correspondence, and visual inspection tasks.
