Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices for Truecaller’s Ads platform.
- Design and architect high-availability, low-latency distributed systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize system performance, and maintain reliability.
- Review peer code and contribute to engineering quality and design standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
- Deploy features to production and ensure smooth platform integration.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
- Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming.
Requirements
- 5–9 years of experience as a backend developer in a startup or product-based environment.
- Excellent knowledge of at least one modern programming language, including Go, Java, C#, or Scala.
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with microservices architecture, design patterns, and solid design principles.
- Hands-on experience with Go, Scala, Play, Redis, Aerospike, Kafka, and NoSQL stores is preferred.
- Experience with GCP or another public cloud is preferred.
- Experience with consumer-facing companies and user-centric product development is a plus.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude is expected.
- Familiarity with applying AI-driven insights to backend performance and workflow optimization is preferred.
