Responsibilities
- Write software for autonomous Group 1–5 UAVs and simulated aircraft models supporting tactical military missions.
- Build, improve, test, and deploy aerial autonomy software architectures on real aircraft systems.
- Develop and implement GNC algorithms, outer-loop control systems, and path planning algorithms.
- Develop and simulate 3DoF and 6DoF air-vehicle models for GNC algorithm development.
- Collaborate with third-party UAS vendors to integrate autonomy software onto OEM hardware.
- Conduct flight testing, data analysis, and rigorous testing of autonomy capabilities.
- Travel between company offices and customer sites as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in aerospace, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience developing GNC software for autonomous systems.
- Experience developing autonomy algorithms in C++.
- Strong foundation in control theory, dynamics, and optimization applied to real-world autonomous systems.
- Experience with flight testing, data analysis, and UAS GNC/navigation systems such as PX4 and ArduPilot.
- Strong functional, procedural, data-oriented, and object-oriented programming experience.
- Ability to hold UK Security Clearance, with current or previous clearance preferred.
- Preferred experience with data visualization and debugging tools, Docker, Linux-based operating systems, source control systems, artifact registries, SIL/HIL testing, Bazel, and national-security projects.
